Loving Christmas as much as I do, creating a Christmas dangler was a must!
The Christmas dangler features a Christmas tree and two sprigs of holly – all made from acetate which I’ve painted using my lovely glass paint, so the clarity and colour intensity are fantastic.
Each Christmas tree is made from three pieces of acetate which I’ve cut and folded to make the tree’s boughs. Little wooden beads separate each set of branches, and there’s a polymer clay piece at the bottom, to suggest a Christmas tree stand. The tree is topped by a little acrylic star with a glimmering AB finish. Finally, the trees are generously coated in fine iridescent glitter, meaning they sparkle and shine in a most pleasing manner.
The holly sprigs have a little cluster of red Czech crystal beads, to suggest berries.
Between each acetate piece there’s clusters of beads (a combination of Czech crystal, glass, metal and acrylic), all in a red, gold and green colour theme. And at the very bottom of each Christmas dangler there’s a brass bell which tinkles very musically when you ring it – and don’t forget, every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings, so give it a tinkle and help an angel out!
Due to metal parts (bead eyes, wire, etc), Christmas danglers are not really suitable for outdoor use, as the metal will rust. But you could hang one from the underside of a sheltered area of your garden where it won’t get rained on. For best effect, though, just hang them inside a window that gets a lot of sun, and enjoy the colours and sparkle!
Each Christmas dangler is unique – no two are identical. When you order, I’ll pick one at random for you so you’ll get a nice surprise. However, if you have a specific request regarding the colour of the thread or the type of beads used, please do get in touch as I may be able to custom-make one for you.
Christmas danglers are not toys. Due to small parts and sharp wire, they are not suitable for handling by small children. While they’ll look great hanging at a child’s bedroom window, please make sure the Christmas dangler is kept well out of the child’s reach.
