Another new addition to the Mooshkin danglers family is the bird dangler, a stunning and eye-catching sun catcher featuring very cute little handmade polymer birds and dragonflies, Czech crystals and a selection of glass, metal and acrylic beads. Bird danglers are available in six colour schemes: white, blue, red, pink, purple, or green. How cute are those little faces though? <3
Each bird dangler contains one handmade polymer bird and two handmade polymer dragonflies. The dragonflies and birds are made using lengths of polymer clay twisted and rolled together to make a very pleasing marbled pattern. The dragonflies and birds have eyes made from beads, and wings made of acetate. Each dragonfly/bird’s wings are dusted with fine iridescent glitter to help it catch the sunlight.
Between each polymer piece there’s a little arrangement of Czech crystal, glass, metal and acrylic beads – four clusters of beads per bird dangler. And each dangler is weighted at the bottom with either a brass bell, a large crystal, or an arrangement of beads or lucite leaves and flowers.
Due to its metal parts (bead eyes, wire, etc) the bird dangler is not really suitable for outdoor use, as the metal will rust. But you could hang one from the underside of a sheltered area of your garden where it won’t get rained on. For best effect, though, just hang them inside a window that gets a lot of sun, and enjoy the colours and sparkle!
Each bird dangler is unique – no two are identical. When you order, I’ll pick one at random for you. You can choose an overall colour scheme but the colours of the beads, threads and dragonflies, and the pendant arrangement at the bottom, will be chosen by me so you’ll get a nice surprise. However, if you have a specific request regarding the colour scheme and/or the pendant, please do get in touch as I may be able to custom-make one for you.
Bird danglers are not toys. Due to small parts and sharp wire, they are not suitable for handling by small children. While they’ll look great hanging at a child’s bedroom window, please make sure the bird dangler is kept well out of the child’s reach.
