My ‘sunset sheep’ greetings card is an old favourite that I’ve been selling for years. I’d forgotten all about the original sunset watercolour painting that the card was based on, so when I found it I decided to mount it and offer it for sale.
Of course, on the greetings card the sheep are made from cotton buds, which wouldn’t have worked very well on a framed painting… so I made a couple of simple little sheep from polymer clay (Fimo) and fixed those on instead. I think it’s very effective!
The painting itself is quite small, at around 7x7cm. It’s mounted on watercolour paper, which in turn is mounted on red cardstock, which in turn is mounted on white mount board. Phew!
The overall size of the mount is 22.5×22.5cm. I recommend a box frame for this one, due to the thickness of the Fimo sheep.
