This card was inspired by my youngest grandson, who is nearly 4 and is utterly obsessed with tractors and construction vehicles of all types. I promised him I would make him a birthday card with a tractor on it, so I think he’ll be pretty pleased with this one.
Completely irrelevant but worth relating as it gave me a giggle: I tried to gauge what to put into the little trailer for the card I’ll be making just for him, and tried asking him what his favourite animal was. I tried naming several different animals and he kept replying with “no, too [whatever]” as reasons for animals not being his favourite. After the usuals – elephant, dog, cat, etc – (“too big”, “too smelly”, “too boring”) I asked if he liked goats. “Naah, too horny” was his reply, and my daughter and I could barely contain our laughter, so of course he kept on saying it!
So, onto the details that matter: this is a kraft card base with a tractor cut from very shiny red mirror card. I’ve cut out the exhaust from pewter-coloured mirror card and stuck this over the top to make it stand out. The wheels are cut from black glitter card.
The trailer frame is also cut from pewter mirror card, while the sides are cut from a lovely brown pearlised cardstock. The trailer holds a rabbit, a pumpkin and a cob of corn – again, all cut from pearlised cardstock.
Beneath, I’ve painstakingly cut and affixed ‘penblwydd hapus’, with each letter individually cut from rainbow mirrored card – it may not be entirely visible in the photos, but I promise you it’s very colourful and shiny.
This is an extremely fiddly card to make and this is reflected in the price.

This card measures 15x15cm and is supplied with a brown envelope and protected by a cellophane bag.
