Description
A large and sturdy painted glass carafe vase, hand painted with poinsettias and holly leaves and berries.
The curves on this vase are very pleasing to the eye, but not so pleasing to paint! Curvy pieces like this glass vase are always a little tricky to paint, due to the paint trickling and needing to be cleaned up quickly as I paint. Consequently, these vases take a long time to paint and this is why they are a little more expensive than my other painted glass pieces.
The vases are new (not upcycled) and I buy them from IKEA. Sadly, I didn’t pick up as many as I should have on my last visit (it takes 2 hours to get to my nearest branch) and as a result these painted glass vases are currently very limited edition – only two are available for sale at the moment.
The vase can of course be used as a vase, but to take advantage of the clarity and richness of the colours you may prefer to fill the vase with fairy lights or stand it on a sunny window sill or even in front of a lamp.
Please bear in mind that all items are hand painted, freehand, so some variation in pattern is to be expected.
Care advice
The vase can be gently washed by hand in warm, soapy water, but please note that it is NOT dishwasher safe. Wipe the paintwork gently – do not scrub.
