I just adore this cheeky little nutcracker character – made using the same die set I used for my nutcracker Lantin, albeit with the taller hat option this time round.
This is an incredibly fiddly card to make. First, I emboss a bauble pattern onto a piece of pearlised bright green card, and affix this to an A6 greetings card. Then, I die cut an oval from antique gold pearlised card, and emboss this with a fern pattern. This is affixed to the green background with sticky pads, raising it a few millimetres from the background.
Next I die cut the nutcracker character: it takes 15 individual die cuts to create this little fella, some of them measuring just a few millimetres. These are then assembled using PVA glue.
Then, I die cut the greenery and the sentiment tile.
Next, I affix the greenery and nutcracker character to the gold oval, and add red diamantes to the tiny holly leaves. Finally, I heat emboss the words ‘Nadolig llawen’ onto the sentiment tile, and attach this to the card with sticky pads to raise it up from the background a little.
All cardstock used to make this Christmas card has either a pearlised or mirrored finish.
This handmade Christmas card measures 10.5 x 14.8cm, is supplied with a matching envelope, and presented in a cellophane bag to help keep it free of dust.
