I just adore crocosmias. I know people often class them as weeds, but they are so very cheerful and bright, I can’t help looking forward to July when they start to bloom. My garden is covered in them!
This very bold little watercolour painting was the starting point for my crocosmia-and-bee greetings card, which I’ve been selling for years. When I rediscovered the original painting in a folder I felt it deserved to be hung on someone’s wall as it’s so bright and cheerful.
The painting itself is small at around 7x7cm. It’s mounted on white watercolour paper, which is then mounted on red cardstock, and over the top of this is a 22.5×22.5cm bevelled white mounting board, ready for you to frame in the frame of your choice.
